Charity social raises funds for Hyperbaric Facility

Employees at PDMS, the Island’s leading software provider, recently swapped software for cylinders to raise money for the Hyperbaric Chamber in Douglas during an evening introduction to scuba diving.

PDMS organiser Kris McElhinney was looking for something a little bit different for a social event and contacted Michelle Haywood at Discover Diving in Port St Mary to arrange the evening.

Instructors from the dive school took the eager would–be divers for their first taste of life underwater. Michelle is also the chair of the Friends of the Hyperbaric Chamber and suggested that, instead of making their usual charge, Discover Diving would provide the equipment and instructors for free and that, instead of making their usual charge, Discover Diving would provide the equipment and instructors for free and that PDMS could make a donation to the Hyperbaric Chamber.

Kris said “Everyone had a really enjoyable night and it was a great way to spend an evening. Thanks to all the instructors who gave up their time and showed us how much fun scuba diving is.”

Discover Diving will arrange similar evenings for other companies and interested groups in order to raise funds for the Hyperbaric Facility. Please contact them by email (info@discoverdiving.im) or ring Michelle on 300090.
